Elevator group control as a constrained multiobjective optimization problem

چکیده
Modern elevator systems are controlled by the group controllers that assign moving and stopping policies to cars. Designing an adequate control (EGC) policy is challenging for a number of reasons, one them being conflicting optimization objectives. We address this task formulating corresponding constrained multiobjective problem, and, in contrast most studies domain, approach it using true methods capable finding approximations Pareto-optimal solutions. Specifically, we apply five algorithms with default constraint handling techniques demonstrate their performance optimizing EGC nine various complexity. The experimental results confirm scalability proposed methodology suggest NSGA-II equipped constrained-domination principle best performing algorithm on test systems. problem formulation allow better understanding design provide insightful information stakeholders involved deciding system configurations policies.

Multiobjective Optimization in Elevator Group Control
Modern elevator systems in high-rise buildings consist of groups of elevators with centralized control. The group control allocates hall calls to the most suitable elevators by optimizing a cost function. This problem can be viewed as a combination of online scheduling, resource allocation, and stochastic control. The usual performance criterion to be optimized when scheduling passenger pick-up...

Elevator Control as a Planning Problem
The synthesis of elevator control commands i a difficult problem when new service requirements such as VIP service, acccsu restrictions, nonstop travel etc. have to bc individually tailored to each passenger. AI plamling technology offers a very elegant and flexible solution because the possible actions of a control system can be made explicit and their preconditions and effects can bc specifie...
متن کاملDefect prediction as a multiobjective optimization problem
In this paper we formalize the defect prediction problem as a multi-objective optimization problem. Specifically, we propose an approach, coined as MODEP (Multi-Objective DEfect Predictor), based on multi-objective forms of machine learning techniques—logistic regression and decision trees specifically— trained using a genetic algorithm. The multi-objective approach allows software engineers to...
متن کاملGenetic Elevator Group Control
In a tall building with multiple elevators, it is a notoriously di cult task to control the elevators in the most e cient manner [1].The system proposed in this paper contains two key ideas. First, it continuously generates dispatch functions by adaptation to changes in passenger tra c. Second, it tries to reduce passengers' waiting time by multiple elevator allocation when it is expected that ...
